CDA is one of the leading manufacturers for customized refractive and diffractive polymer micro-optics. Our services include optical design, rapid prototyping, volume manufacturing and assembly of illumination modules.

CDA has more than 20 years of experience in structuring polymers, and uses these technologies for high-volume production of complex microstructures down to the sub-µm range.

Markets we serve are automotive, consumer electronics, machine vision, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR,) life-science, gesture and 3D sensing applications.The product portfolio for optics ranges from DOEs, gratings, micro lens arrays, diffusors, Fresnel lenses, collimation lenses and beam shapers.

DOT GENERATORS

The dot and line generators are forms of diffractive optical elements splitting a light beam into a dot or a line pattern. This kind of optical elements is often used for 3D-sensing. This kind of use is also called "structured light" (SL).

DIFFRACTIVE LENSES

Diffractive lenses resemble in shape and characteristic the Fresnel lenses known from lighthouses but feature much finer structures and their active principle is light diffraction rather than light refraction. This kind of lens provides for a greater flatness than conventional lenses with concomitant full freedom of the collimation function. It is also possible to make multifocal lenses and ones with a particularly high chromatic aberration for applications such as thickness measurements.

MULTI-LENS ARRAY (MLA)

Similar to the refractive diffusors larger lenses can be arranged in a matrix form to fulfil an optical function. It can be, for example, the simultaneous collimation or focussing of a light source matrix.
