The GFH GmbH is one of the global leaders and technology pioneer in designing and engineering of high precision laser micro machines with ultrafast lasers.

Nowadays, the laser technology is already applied for different types of processing, with lowest tolerance and no deterioration, such as: micro cutting, laser turning, laser drilling, micro structuring and micro engraving.

We offer a professional job shop where our clients needs are met. This production takes place in our company building with our own inhouse manufactured laser micro machines.

The expertise of our team goes far beyond the pure laser technology and includes, among others, the qualification of the components and metrology.

In the past there have been several developments of detailed solutions for different sectors such as:

GL.smart: Laser Turning Machine

The newly developed GL.smart laser system with up to 16 simultaneous axes is the all-purpose weapon for laser micromachining. Thus, the smallest machine in the GL series not only offers the option of combination machining of laser turning and 5-axis machining, but also an output increase through the possibility of double machining.

GL.compact II: The laser micromachining system is an innovative new development offering the possibility of 5-axis simultaneous machining. The special precision, stability and accuracy of the machine is ensured not only by a completely new cooling concept, but also by the newly developed axis kinematics.

In addition to its extremely compact design and high flexibility, the GL.compact II offers a greater variety of components due to its more extensive working range.

Under the name GL.evo, GFH is presenting a 3 or 5 axis machine tool for industrial laser micro machining. The field of applications ranges from ablation and coating removal processes to engravings and micro drilling with high aspect ratios. For the mentioned tasks different modules are optionally available.

With the GL.smart things are running smoothly: The laser as a turning tool takes cutting technology to a new level

Turning is one of the oldest and most important manufacturing processes for the production of components in almost every industrial sector.

Since the Middle Ages, this process is being continuously developed and adapted to the changing needs.

The cutting technology, however, brings the producers to the limits of the technical transability, particularly with regard to small and very small components. Tool wear, tool life, machining forces and heat affected zone became a limiting factor.

But now the laser experts from GFH GmbH raise this manufacturing method to a new level: The conventional turning tool is replaced by a contactless laser that evaporates the material with ultra-short laser pulses.

This technology has been integrated from the GFH into a specially designed production machine. The process-related technology disadvantage of the lower removal volume per unit compared to the cutting process is eliminated by the double-spindle concept.

The GL.smart equipped with this technology, in conjunction with the integrated CAD / CAM solutions, represents the next milestone in the history of turning.
