PRIMES GmbH produces measuring devices for the characterization of laser beam parameters such as power, beam profiler, focused and raw beam propagation as well as beam quality.

About us

PRIMES has nearly 30 years of experience in the development of diagnostics solutions for the complete range of laser technology.

We develop and produce systems for the characterization of industrially employed laser beams as used in the automotive industry, industrial machinery, additive manufacturing as well as R & D and laser manufacturing.

Our focus lies on measuring devices for the characterization of a wide range of industrial lasers for material processing and scientific applications.

The combination of several MW pulse power with a few micron spot diameter and the time range from femtoseconds up to cw operation has led to a new generation of PRIMES instruments from UV to NIR wavelengths.

The field bus interface of several PRIMES systems offers the possibility for an easy integration into a laser machine.

FocusMonitor FM+ HPD – A Milestone in the Measurement of high Power Densities

PRIMES introduces the latest member of the FM+ family: the FM+ HPD (High Power Densities). Through constant development and the special design of the new measuring principle FS³ (Fused Silica Sensor System), it is now possible to measure and evaluate laser beams with high power densities of up to 50 MW/cm2. Beam diameters of 100 μm – 1 200 μm can be evaluated. The innovative design and the new functionality of the FM+ HPD are available for beam sources in the wavelength range of 1.0 – 1.1 μm.

LaserQualityMonitor LQM+ - Safety First for Laser Manufacturers

With the LQM+, PRIMES provides an integrated solution for fast & simple analysis of laser beams. It does not only measure, the laser beam parameters in the NIR, VIS & UV. It also allows to more easily analyse errors in the optical design. One very common area of application is in quality assurance for the production & acceptance of laser light sources. The LQM+ is designed for the analysis on high power lasers. It is optionally available for up to 20 kW & works with an integrated power meter.
